Water and Wastewater Management

Central Pattana Focusing on taking care and getting ready for the water scarcity situation and various floods. The Company, therefore, gets its operations prepared using the 3Rs principle: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.

The company places importance on the study of wastewater management and control systems arising from various activities within the shopping center. Wastewater undergoes preliminary treatment by removing large solid waste before entering the secondary wastewater treatment system, which includes the following treatment methods:

  • Installation of an air-filled wastewater treatment system using a Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR).
  • Installation of an air-filled wastewater treatment system in the form of deep vertical shafts (Deep Shaft) instead of initial settling tanks and aerated tanks.
  • Transporting wastewater that has passed through the preliminary wastewater treatment system to the centralized wastewater treatment system, including treatment of wastewater from government agencies and external organizations. This includes regulating wastewater discharge operations, conducting quality inspections, recording and preparing reports, as well as maintaining and repairing equipment in various wastewater treatment systems such as pipelines, grease traps, wastewater pumps, treatment tanks, and aeration pumps according to preventive maintenance plans. Regular quality checks of wastewater are conducted to ensure compliance with established standards. In case the wastewater quality does not meet the standards, each shopping center will have a follow-up plan to identify the causes and take corrective actions to improve water quality to meet legal requirements and other specified standards before discharging wastewater into public water bodies. Any findings during inspections will be addressed, corrected, and reported to the ISO branch committee for further action.
Target

• Use recycled water by 20% by 2025.

• Reduce water intensity by 10% by the year 2030.

• Utilizing 100% of the recycled water into some areas where possible by 2025

Management Approach

  1. Efficient Water Management Practices
  2. Regular Inspection for Water Leaks
  3. Installation of Water Meters and Billing based on Actual Usage to Encourage Water Conservation among Tenants
  4. Switch to Water-Saving Faucets and Sensor-Based Systems in Restrooms
  5. Install Water-Saving Devices or Sprinklers for Watering Plants in Project Gardens
  6. Implement Wastewater Treatment Systems within the Shopping Center to Recycle Water
  7. Promote Value and Conservation of Water among Employees.
